MIND SNARE (ITALY)

Turin's MINDSNARE, originally billed as SATAN'S SLAUGHTER and founded in July of 1989.  Having adopted the band title MINDSNARE, taken from a track on the NAPALM DEATH 'Harmony Corruption' album, the group issued 1992's 'The Dream-Quest Into Unknown'. This session was the first to feature singer Elio Del Grande. The band was put on hiatus throughout 1993 as guitarist Chris Benso served 12 months national military service in Mozambique. Upon his return MINDSNARE got back to work, releasing the demos 1994's 'Blind' and 1995's 'Icon' (never released). MINDSNARE, ditching their former vocalist and guitarist, pulled in a glut of valuable supports to visiting artists in 1995, opening for MALEVOLENT CREATION, VADER, SACRED SIN and OPPRESSOR. A live tape arrived in 1996, Day of the Dead, culled from recordings laid down whilst the band supported KREATOR. The band signed a contract with Cryptic Souls Productions for an album but this deal would go sour. Undaunted MINDSNARE cut the 'Awaiting The Ancients' toward the close of the year and issued it in during 1997. By this juncture MINDSNARE had whittled down its membership to just vocalist / bassist Gigi Casini and guitarist Chris Benso but undertook gigs in France with Max Marzocca of NATRON acting as stand in. Former DEMONRY drummer Marco Boffa enrolled in September.
